The safe working load for this frame rack is 350kgs but has been tested by CERAM to withstand far more weight before failure. You can be sure that as long as you abide by the SWL, our products are the safest on the market.
The image to the left shows a 3200mm x 2700mm Pole System that weighs just 80 kgs and has a load capacity of 350 kgs. The majority of our racks on LWB vans such as Ford Transits and Mercedes Sprinters have a SWL of 350kgs. Whilst the racks have been tested to transport glass up to 2 tons per metre, this is impractical and dangerous on a 3.5 ton vehicle. The Department of Transport and GGF recommend that it’s best practice is to transport no more than 10% of your GVW on the outside of your van. This is also common sense as you don’t want your van tipping over when you go around a corner.
