All of the glass racks and glass frails are made from the highest grade of unique Aluminium profile and have been Safety Tested to ensure that all products are of premium quality. It was found that the ultimate failure load of all the samples was in excess of 20kN per metre length of ledge, which is equivalent to more than 2 tonnes per metre length.
2009 saw the introduction of the 'Rack Protector System' which is a sophisticated moulded block that is strong enough to secure safety Marker Boards for the Pole system, yet supple enough to absorb a percentage of the impact in the event of a collision. The Rack Protector also encompasses a wraparound reflector for high visibility from the front, back and side of the vehicle. |

Top Fleet provide solutions to a variety of trades within the glazing industry: Strap Systems which are perfect for transporting windows, doors and conservatories, and Pole Systems for the safe carrying of units and shop fronts. These systems are designed to be installed on vans up to 4.5t - from a Ford Transit Connect through to the XLWB Mercedes Sprinter.
In addition to the external glass racks, standard and bespoke roof racks are offered. These roof racks are constructed from the same aluminium as the frails. Top Fleet also product a specialist fascia roof rack with 5mtr load capacity for most LWB vans such as the Volkswagen Crafter.
Whilst large frames and units need to be transported on the outside of the vehicle, Top Fleet also manufactures internal aluminium racking for smaller units, with an option of shelving behind the racks. These products offer fantastic weight saving over steel and timber products. |
The company also supplies Specialist Transport in the form of the Garage Door System; a hybrid between the Pole and Strap System. The rack is fitted low on the vehicle to allow garage doors and large frames to be easily positioned on to the rack, and there is a removable section for changing the wheel. An optional folding ledge reduces damage to the rack and other road users when not in use. The Racks can be fitted to the off-side or both sides of the vehicle, and is supplied with two Ratchet Straps and a Roof Rack.
Top Fleet has come a long way since its humble beginnings in April 1988. Initially starting off with a work force of just two men and the most of basic tools, the Top Fleet glass rack was born. The first designs were welded steel box section that produced amazingly strong but heavy racks. Aluminium was added to the mix in the early 1990s because of its strong yet lightweight characteristics, and steel was eventually phased out. |

After recuperating and relocating after a major fire in February 2007 destroyed the entire site, the future is now looking bright for Top Fleet, with investment and advancement delivering the best glass transport and frame carrying system on the market. Plans for the future include building on existing success and opening an overseas branch within the next five years.
